Location 1-produce location photos on a theme
Here are my 12 photos for location,I had an idea for location to be old buildings/houses throw the ages and here my 12 that I picked.
This photo is an old shop I found in town Birmingham,They are known as the back to back houses,They are looked after by the national trust the're a charity that works to preserve and protect historic places and spaces and the back to back house is one of them,I have a few photos in my 12 of the back to back houses.
In this photo I wanted to make the main focal point the door itself and show its a corner shop and how the houses, drift off
When taking this photo I wanted to show that old corner shop that people would remember when they was younger,That's why I didn't take it from the side because I wanted it straight on,head on look at the shop,When I was taking this photo I loved the way the shop had that tarnish wood and how its detained its wood work and detail to the wood,Soon as I seen this little shop I knew I had to take a photo of it just because of how rustic it looks and the colourers that come out in this photo are browns and oranges which I thick works really well as the door is the main focal point and the door is this dark chocolate brown.
If I could this photo again I wouldn't really change anything about it,just because I think I got this shot on point the lighting, how far back I was.
In this photo,Soon as I seen it I thought of an 60s/70s house as I had to take this photo it was hard just because of all the trees blocking the house so I couldn't really get a good shot but out of them all I picked this one just because I thought I could Photoshop it and make it much darker and give it that mystery house/scary house feel to it but then I thought I would just keep it as it was just because you lose so much detail when playing around with contrasts, like the sky detail how the clouds are in a interesting shape I didn't want to lose that detail. In this picture the main focal point is the house because the house is in the middle of the photo which makes it the main point of the photo it were you eye go soon as you look at the photo.
When I was taking this photo,What I liked most about it was the way the trees was in the way of the house because it gives something else to the photo not just an house looking all pretty, you also have trees, greener. It gives it that more to look at,it gives it colour, more tone and light to the photo.
I found this little terraced houses in Edgbaston Birmingham and when I seen them I knew I had to take a photos and put them in my 12 just because of the white detail on the houses and the bay windows and the arches above every door and window,When I was taking this photo I was thinking of all the different ways to take it and so I thought I would take it from the side looking down the street,And the sun was shining so I thought if I get the sun facing me and the houses from aside it would be a great shot,And it come out just how I wanted it to but I did darken this photo in Photoshop just because I didn't like how bright it was and I wanted it to have that cold morning feel to it and only warm when the sun hits your face. And when I darkened it,It was how I wanted it.
The main focal point in this photo is first house and how the sun is shinning towards you.
What I like most about this photo is that face the sun is at the start of the photo and how the houses get darker and you look down the photo, how the sun lights ups the first few house,And how you can really see the detail on the houses the white really comes out and the arches look Victorian,And when I see this house I thought of the Victorian/First world war,I say this because of the detail of the arches is very Victorian but the terraced house is first world war time.
In this photo,I wanted to show the shop from the side but on the side there was houses and there are also looked after by the national trust,In this photo I wanted to get the old windows in and show that the old house was 3 story's but they are some how smaller in size to our house today but yet 3 story's.
What I like most about this house is that it shows history and how we used to build our houses in the 19th century.
In this photo I wanted the main focal point to be the house itself just because of so many details the dark wood, windows, the brick work and that's what I like most about it has kept its little feathers.
When I seen these house on the side of the shop I knew it would look so nice keeping with the theme which is old buildings,if I could take this again I would get close to the house in the middle and just put on my focus on that house because I think having the shop and a-bit of the other house put you off a-bit but I still like how it come out.
I had photos of houses for a far so I thought I would get a close up of one and when I seen this house I knew it would be something else just looking at the house your eyes go straight to the door that little blue door is and the white detailing around the door.
I found this house in Edgbaston Birmingham I cant really really were about but there some beautiful house there and I would of like to of seen them when they were first built to see how much of a difference there is now,In this photo I wanted the main focal point to be the blue door and I think I captured that really well,I didn't both Photo shopping it just because I didn't want to change the blue do something else I like it just the way it is,The only thing I will say is that this photo is very dark and I should of brighten it up or something,If I could take it again I would have the sun shinning throw that gap just to give the photo some light, colour and tone to the photo.
What I also like about this photo is it has the window arches and you don't see that on today's house, today's house are very bland and plane, simple and I think they make them simple because they don't have time like they used to,they want the houses up and built in less than a year,Not like the 19th century when they could add the detail to houses.
Like the last one this one is also dark and I do wish I made them light or something but I didn't want to make this one bight just because the house is already white and I thought it might of wash it out so I just left it how it was but the house brighten is up because of the colour.
When I seen this house it reminds me of a farm house just because of the window shutters and the colour of the house,The main focal point I wanted it to be is the windows with shutters just because you don't see house with shutters everyday and I thought it would make an interesting detail to the photo. What I notice in this photo were my eyes go the most when looking is,The windows I think cause I'm not used to see such big windows with shutters.
If I could take this photo again I would of done it maybe on a brighter day just because its looks so dark and gloomy. But saying that I am happy with how it come out even its being dark.
In these next 5 photos are different to the ones I have been taking off house I thought don't keep with the same theme why not change it up and do the details on builds and house,I found this in the art gallery/museum in Birmingham I walked in and seen this and I thought it would be a beautiful photo and it took me forever to get and photo of it as it was so far up but I got one in the end and what I like most is that you can see and like paint dripping off and I think that makes it a little more interesting and gives that photo more texture,I did make all the photo black and white just because I wanted to have that old/classic look to them,I wanted to give these photos that 18th century look to them as they are details off old buildings.
In this pictures I think the main focal point has to be the whole thing just because off the all detail is up close and there is no where else to look
What I like most is that you know it took some so long to make the little detail that we miss everyday, because we are too busy to stop and look and it took that person mouths, days, years and I think its always the little details that make some more.
Going back to why I made them black and white,I think this photo looked so much better in black and white,it had this yellow ish look to the photo it was the lighting off the art gallery so I was playing with the contrast and I made it black and white and soon as I seen it I knew I had to leave it like that.
In this photo it is a photo of a stained glass window in the art gallery I thought of getting an up close photo of this because people normally get all the window in it and I didn't want to do that I wanted to do something original and different,I also made this black and white just because, when I was playing with the contrast it looked bests black and white,In this photo it don't really have a main focal point like that last one because its up close, its the whole thing is the focus point.
I didn't really think if an stained glass window to be something I would take a photo off but when I see how colourful it was when the sun was shining throw.
I just knew I had to take a photo of it but I did have to take a few shots just because the sun was washing the photo out so I had to wait for the sun to die down a bit,To get this shot but I made it black and white, because I wanted it to be simple and plain.
When taking this photo I was looking for something old and rustic and showing over time, what weather dose to builds and this is the perfect example,Showing that nothing lasts forever and I also made this black and white just because,The lighting was off a-bit it was a very wet/rainy day so I had to work with what I had,The main focal point is the rock crumbling away, its where my eyes always go when looking at this photo,If I could take this again I would of done it on a bright day to show off all the different browns and cream tones to the photo.
I found this,Just outside the art galley in Birmingham and when I seen the paint braking away and showing that unban photography,I thought I would add it to my 12,I also put this in black and white I think it give it the edgy look to it and makes it look more professional,The main focal point in this photo is the railings just because there is nothing else in the photo and I have done a up close shot,If I could do this photo again I would just because I am happy with the way it come out even thought I made it black and white I just felt like it would work so much better in black and white and I am overly happy with the out come of this photo.
This photo was also taken outside the art galley,It was the same day and the lighting wasn't very good and didn't try putting flash on but I didn't like house the photo come out so I thought I made all the others black and white why not see if this one looks any good the same and it come out really nice,I like that fact that its looks very old like that photo was taken a long time ago,I think the main focal point in this photo has to be the whole photo just because I did it up close and also taken it from a side angle,If I could take this again I would of not made it black and white just because I would love to see all the different tones come out in the photo but like I said it was a very gloomy day.
This photo was taken at the back to back house in town Birmingham,I have also taken some other photos and put them in my 12,And I wanted to add this one just because the main focus has been the door/windows when this one is different to the others just because this is a side shot of the shops and its also looking up at the sky, which makes an interesting focal point,Which is the shops doing along the bottom of the photo which I think is something different to my other photos and how the dark wood draws you eyes to it,It makes it that different to my other photos,If I could take this again I would play around with the contrast and see what I get.
